With nearly three decades of coaching experience, Coach Pete Schmidt has been a pillar of youth basketball development in Algoma. His dedication to the game spans elementary, middle school, and AAU levels, where he has played a key role in shaping young athletes both on and off the court.

Pete has coached elementary and middle school boys and girls teams for over 20 years, including leading 8th-grade girls’ basketball for 17 years and an 8th-grade tournament team for 15 years. His experience extends to summer leagues, skills camps, and AAU basketball, where he has coached with Together On Three and the DK Queens.

Coach Pete’s passion lies in teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and preparing players for the next level. His long-standing commitment to youth basketball reflects his belief that strong foundations create future success.
